Online Reselling (Retail Arbitrage) Blueprint
Buy, list, and sell inventory honestly — cash flow first, not passive-income myths.
This course teaches you how to start and run online reselling and retail arbitrage as a solo operator: buying clearance, thrift, liquidation, and estate inventory, grading it honestly, listing it with truthful photos, pricing it against sold comps, shipping it fast, and handling returns without losing your shirt. It covers fit, offer design, setup, pricing, the location-dependent legal, sales-tax, and platform-policy basics, your first 10 customers, delivery systems, and growth without breaking quality. Every money example uses the same planning base case: about $15–$80 per SKU sold, roughly 40–150 per month, about $12 variable cost per SKU sold, about $100–$350 fixed monthly costs, and about $500–$2500 to start — which pencils out to very roughly $400 to $4,000 a month before tax under stated assumptions — a planning range, not a promise. Replace every figure with your own sourcing receipts, current fee schedules, and real sell-through. No fake reviews, honest condition grades, and inventory risk is real. This is educational content, not legal, tax, medical, or financial advice.
What you get
Built for operators who want a clear path — not a pile of generic tips.
The base case
One worked example, not a target
Planning estimates, before tax and before anything you pay yourself — no income is guaranteed. Your own prices, volume and costs will differ; the course walks you through replacing every number here with yours.
Who this fits
- You want to build a real reselling operation with sourcing rules, fee math, and inventory discipline — not a garage full of hope
- You can spend hours in stores, thrift bins, and liquidation lots and enjoy the hunt without buying everything you see
- You are willing to verify sales-tax, business-license, and platform rules for your location before taking money
- You can live with a learning curve on sourcing, fee math, listing quality, and inventory turns while you improve
- You will photograph flaws, grade condition honestly, and accept a return without arguing
- You will track money as profit before tax and after fees, not vanity revenue screenshots
Honest risks
- Demand and pricing in online reselling vary by category and season; slow months are normal and no income is guaranteed.
- Inventory risk is real: items that do not sell tie up cash, and clearance stock can be repriced by the whole market at once.
- Marketplace fees, shipping, and returns eat margin fast; a listing that looks profitable at list price can lose money after a return. Check current fee schedules.
- Platform concentration risk — one policy change, account review, or category gate can freeze your sales overnight.
- Restricted, recalled, counterfeit, or brand-gated items can get an account suspended even when sold in good faith.
- No fake reviews, honest condition grades, and no hidden flaws. Crossing this line creates refund, account, and reputation risk.
Who should skip this one
- You believe reselling is passive income with no inventory risk — this course rejects that myth.
- You will not track fees, returns, and true landed cost per item.
- You cannot tie up $500–$2500 in inventory that may take 60–90 days to turn without stress.
- You are tempted to hide flaws, resell recalled or restricted items, or fake reviews to move stock.
- You have no space to store, photograph, and pack inventory cleanly at home.

Honest economics before tax
~4 min read
Base-case planning figures for online reselling: about $15–$80 per SKU sold, roughly 40–150 SKUs sold per month at a sustainable solo pace, about $12 variable cost per SKU sold, about $100–$350 fixed costs per month, and about $500–$2500 to start. At that load the arithmetic works out to very roughly $400 to $4,000 a month before tax under stated assumptions — a planning range, not a promise. No income is guaranteed.
In reselling, revenue is what the buyer paid. The marketplace then takes its fee, shipping comes out, you already paid for the item, and packaging and returns land later. The ~$12 variable figure is a blended planning number for fees, packaging, and shipping supplies; your cost of goods is the bigger line and varies by item. Track landed cost per SKU: purchase price plus tax paid at the register plus fees plus shipping.
- Low end: 40 SKUs × $15 = $600 revenue − $480 variable − $100 fixed = roughly $20 before tax — sourcing cheap items at low volume barely pays
- Middle: 90 SKUs × $40 = $3,600 − $1,080 − $200 = about $2,300 before tax and before paying yourself
- High end: 150 SKUs × $80 = $12,000 − $1,800 − $350 = near the top of the range only if you can source that volume of $80 items every month
- Cash tied up: 40–150 items a month at 45–90 days to sell means two to three months of inventory sitting in your house
